Where to Eat at Table Rock Lake?

Rock Lane Resort outdoor pool with shaded tables and Table Rock Lake behind it

Table Rock Lake has 745 miles of shoreline at normal pool, so where to eat depends far more on which arm of the lake you are on than on any ranked list. This guide walks the lake by area, from Indian Point round to Kimberling City, Shell Knob and Cape Fair, and flags which kitchens you can tie up to and which ones cut back or close as the season winds down.

Most dining guides for this lake are really guides to Branson. They list the theatre district and the Landing, then stop. That is a fair answer if you are staying on Highway 76, and a poor one if you are on the water, because the lake spreads across three counties and the drive between two of its arms can take longer than the drive into town.

The useful way to think about it is by arm. Indian Point sits at the Branson end, next to Silver Dollar City. Kimberling City sits mid lake where Highway 13 crosses. Shell Knob and Cape Fair sit out on the quieter western arms. Rock Lane Resort is on Indian Point, so that section is the one we know first hand, and every other venue below is set out with its sourcing named so you can judge it yourself.

One habit is worth adopting before you drive anywhere on this lake: check the day of the week. Several of the best waterfront kitchens here are seasonal, run shorter weeks once summer ends, and shut entirely over winter. That is the most common way a lake dinner plan falls apart.

What Kinds of Restaurants Are on Table Rock Lake?

Three kinds, and they behave differently. Marina restaurants sit on the water with boat access and short seasonal hours. Resort restaurants serve guests and the public alike and set their own seasons. Town restaurants in Branson, Kimberling City and Shell Knob keep ordinary year round hours but have no water frontage at all.

The distinction matters because the first two are what people mean when they ask about eating on the lake, and they are also the two that change their hours most. A kitchen floating on a dock cannot trade in January. A restaurant on Highway 13 can.

Where Can You Eat at Indian Point?

Swim-up bar at Rock Lane Resort on Table Rock Lake near Branson

Indian Point fits a lot of food onto a small peninsula, because Silver Dollar City sits at the top of it. At the waterfront end, Rock Lane Resort runs a restaurant and a tiki bar with its own food truck, while a floating breakfast cafe and a food truck park sit along the rest of the road.

Our own kitchens are Rock Island Grill and the Rock Island Tiki Bar, and in September they run on very different schedules. As of 16 September 2026, the Grill, which was completely remodelled across 2024 and 2025, has closed for the season. The Tiki Bar carries on: since 8 September it has been open 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM Sunday through Thursday and 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, with its own food truck serving alongside it. Its swim-up counter sits on the infinity pool, and the resort describes it as Branson’s only swim-up tiki bar on Table Rock Lake.

You do not have to be staying with us to eat or drink at the Tiki Bar. It is open to the public, and it is the pool itself that is reserved for resort guests, so a visitor can order at the bar without swimming up to it. For the rest of the peninsula we have written the whole thing up separately in our guide to the restaurants at Indian Point, which also records what has closed there and what took its place.

Where Can You Eat Near Kimberling City?

Kimberling City sits mid lake where Highway 13 crosses on the bridge, roughly the centre of the lake by length. The waterfront option asked about most here is Pier 28 Pizza and Grill, which floats at Port of Kimberling Marina and Resort, just past What’s Up Dock and close to the bridge itself.

Pier 28 is worth checking the calendar for rather than turning up at, and this late in the year the calendar is short. As of 16 September 2026 its own website lists it as open Thursday through Saturday, 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM, and names 26 September as the final day of its 2026 season. It describes itself as accessible by car or boat and publishes 30 courtesy boat slips on the same dock the restaurant floats on. Its menu keeps a pork tenderloin sandwich named in tribute to Big Buoy’s, which it credits as Kimberling City’s first floating restaurant.

Where Can You Eat Near Shell Knob and Cape Fair?

These are the quiet western arms, further out from Branson, so treat them as a day out rather than a dinner detour. Both have a marina kitchen on the water, and neither publishes day to day opening hours on its own website, so a phone call before you set off is part of the plan.

At Shell Knob, Watson’s on the Water sits at Campbell Point Marina, 1363 Campbell Point Road. What its site does publish is live music on Thursdays and Sundays at 5:00 PM, which is a better reason to time a visit than any star rating.

At Cape Fair, the restaurant at Cape Fair Marina is called Stuffed and Pressed. This is the one place on the lake where the guides will actively mislead you, because several still list it under an older name, while the marina’s own website names Stuffed and Pressed and describes dining out on the deck beside the lake. That site also states plainly that the restaurant closes for winter.

Which Lake Restaurants Can You Reach by Boat?

Arriving by water is why most people ask about lake dining, and the number of genuine boat up kitchens is small. Pier 28 at Kimberling City is the clearest case, because it publishes courtesy slips at its own dock. Watson’s and Stuffed and Pressed sit at marinas, so confirm docking before you set out.

Timing matters as much as docking. Pier 28 ends its season on 26 September and Stuffed and Pressed closes for winter, which is the qualifier that matters most when the trip is built around the boat rather than the meal. Three further practical points before you plan one. Tie up space is finite, and whether any of it can be held for you is worth asking rather than assuming, because a busy Saturday evening can mean circling. Following the channel is not the same as the straight line on a map, so allow more time than the distance suggests, and plan the return leg before dark rather than after it. And kitchens close earlier than bars do, so aim at the kitchen’s last order rather than the venue’s closing time.

If you are hiring rather than bringing your own, our marina at Rock Lane runs 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Wednesday to Sunday and rents pontoons, tritoons, ski boats and fishing boats. Building a full day around the water rather than just a meal is covered in our guide to what there is to do on Table Rock Lake, and the drinking side of the same question, including which bars you can tie up to, is in our roundup of bars on Table Rock Lake.

Which Branson Restaurant Throws the Rolls?

This one comes up often in searches and the true answer is not the one people expect. The restaurant famous for throwing rolls is Lambert’s Cafe, and there is no Lambert’s in Branson. Its own website lists three locations and only three: Sikeston, Missouri, Ozark, Missouri, and Foley, Alabama.

The nearest one to Table Rock Lake is the Ozark location at 1800 West State Highway J, which sits north of the lake rather than anywhere you would fold into a lake day. It is worth saying plainly, because the question gets asked as though the answer sits somewhere on the Branson strip, and visitors have gone looking for it there. If throwed rolls are the point of the trip, build the day around Ozark. If they are a nice to have, they are not a reason to leave the lake.

What Changes After Labor Day?

Labor Day fell on 7 September in 2026. As of 16 September, Pier 28 is down to three days a week and names 26 September as its last day, our own Rock Island Grill has closed for the season, the Tiki Bar keeps shorter daytime hours, and Cape Fair Marina’s restaurant closes for winter.

In practice that means a September or October lake trip needs its meals checked rather than assumed, and a midweek arrival in the shoulder season can find the water frontage shut while the town restaurants carry on as normal. This end of the lake does not go quiet at Labor Day, though. The Tiki Bar’s Corona Grand Stage still has events booked through 31 October, including the Grills Gone Wild barbecue competition on 24 October.

If you want the meal and the bed on the same site, our lakefront lodging at Rock Lane puts you on the same property as the tiki bar and the marina, and the wider peninsula is covered in our Indian Point guide. To ask about a table or a group booking, get in touch with the resort or call (417) 338-2211.

Frequently Asked Questions

What restaurants are on Table Rock Lake?

The waterfront ones cluster at the marinas and resorts. At the Branson end, Indian Point has the Rock Island Tiki Bar and Rock Island Grill at Rock Lane Resort, though the Grill has closed for the season, plus a food truck park and a floating cafe. Mid lake, Pier 28 floats at Port of Kimberling. On the western arms, Watson’s on the Water sits at Campbell Point Marina in Shell Knob and Stuffed and Pressed at Cape Fair Marina. Town restaurants in Branson, Kimberling City and Shell Knob add many more without water frontage.

What restaurants are located on the water on Table Rock Lake?

Right on the waterfront, as opposed to near it, the list is short. The Rock Island Tiki Bar and Rock Island Grill at Rock Lane Resort on Indian Point, with the Grill closed for the season, Pier 28 at Port of Kimberling Marina, Watson’s on the Water at Campbell Point Marina, and Stuffed and Pressed at Cape Fair Marina. Pier 28 is the one that publishes courtesy boat slips at its own dock.

What are the best restaurants near Table Rock Lake, MO?

Ranking them is a matter of taste, so it is more useful to match the place to the day. For a swim-up bar and a daytime food truck, the Tiki Bar at Rock Lane. For pizza with the boat tied up outside, Pier 28 before its season ends on 26 September. For live music at 5:00 PM on a Thursday or Sunday, Watson’s at Campbell Point. For a meal out on a marina deck at Cape Fair, Stuffed and Pressed.

Where do the locals eat in Branson, MO?

Away from the Highway 76 strip, mostly, and on this lake that means the marina kitchens out on its arms as much as the restaurants in town. We have not surveyed where residents eat, so rather than repeat a list of insider picks we cannot stand behind, the venues on this page are the ones we checked at source: Pier 28 at Kimberling City, Watson’s on the Water at Shell Knob and Stuffed and Pressed at Cape Fair.

Do lake restaurants stay open in winter?

Assume they change and check each one. Cape Fair Marina states its restaurant closes for winter, Pier 28 names 26 September as the last day of its 2026 season, and our own Rock Island Grill has already closed for the season. The Rock Island Tiki Bar keeps shorter daytime hours after Labor Day, and its stage has events booked through 31 October. For anywhere else, call before you drive, because third party listings for this lake go stale quickly.
